Osteopathy can be used to treat a variety of conditions including back, neck, shoulder and knee pain. We are registered with the General Osteopathic Council, which is a regulated body that maintains high standards and continual training across the profession, ensuring you the highest standards of care.
At your first visit we will aim to make you feel as relaxed as possible – we understand this is a new experience for many people and you may be slightly nervous. We will take a careful case history, which includes discussing your lifestyle and previous medical history which may have an impact on your current complaint.
We will carry out a examination, including looking at your posture and movements and a hands on examination where we can feel the movement of your joints and muscles. It’s a good idea to where comfortable, loose clothing for your appointment.
We will then carry out appropriate treatment, which may include therapeutic massage, joint mobilisations, stretching, acupuncture and ultrasound. We will provide you with advice on after care, including exercises specific to you to in order to speed up your recovery.
If you would like any further information about your appointment before you visit us please call us on 01903-899916 and we would be happy to discuss this with you in more detail. Alternatively, we can send you a fact sheet.
